Does Cumae control what AI says about my business?
No. Cumae gives your business an authoritative information source and lets you govern which applications can access it. Third-party AI platforms control their own answers. CRSTBL cannot compel any platform to change an output. What Cumae changes is what those systems retrieve.
What is included in the free plan?
Cumae Publish is free and publishes one self-asserted public identity record — company name, canonical website, general description, public location information, general product or service categories, and a link to your current authoritative information. It carries no domain or entity verification, and the record says so. It does not include the full Cumae record, AI answer monitoring, incident alerts, correction activity, or partner access controls. Ownership of a Publish record can be claimed or disputed through CRSTBL’s claim process.
What are Open, Registered, Allowlisted and Private?
They are access policies, not products. Open is your public identity record, readable by anyone including unregistered AI systems and search engines. Registered is your full general record, available to identified applications that have accepted CRSTBL terms. Allowlisted is a partner-specific view you approve individually. Private is restricted information available only to your own company-controlled agents and integrations. A business can use several at the same time.
Do I need a CRSTA subscription to buy Cumae?
No. Cumae is priced as its own product and is sold independently of CRSTA — you do not have to buy both, and Cumae plans are never blended with CRSTA conversation allowances. Price is set by how many locations you publish and how they are structured.
How is Cumae priced?
Cumae is one product, priced by how many locations you publish and how they are structured. A single restaurant location is $99/mo billed annually. A group whose locations share the same hours, menu and policies can publish one record listing up to 10 addresses for $149/mo. Groups that need each location individually addressable add location records, at a per-location rate that falls as the count rises. Hotels and resorts are priced per property by key count. Is AI answer monitoring included?
Monitoring is a capability that attaches to a paid record, and it is in development. Scope and pricing are being finalized with product and operations. Monitoring works from a defined question library across designated AI services — it is not an unlimited review of every possible AI-generated statement, and it does not monitor every menu item, SKU, price or real-time inventory level.
What is AEO or GEO?
AEO (AI Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) describe making business information discoverable and usable by AI systems and large language models. It is the AI-era equivalent of SEO. Just as SEO helps you rank in Google, AEO helps your business be represented accurately in AI-generated answers.
Can I apply Cumae output to my own website?
Yes. Cumae generates recommended metadata, keywords, and implementation guidance you can apply to your own site, so you strengthen how AI systems read your content while keeping your digital presence on infrastructure you own and control.
Who owns the data?
You do. Cumae processes your information to generate the record, enhanced AI context, and optimization assets. That does not transfer ownership of your underlying business data. Cumae information is made available to external applications only under the access policies you configure.
Does Cumae publish my customer conversations?
No. Raw customer conversations are never made public or discoverable. If you run CRSTA and opt in, approved and classified conversation insights can help improve your Cumae Business Discovery Profile — that is opt-in, and it works on approved insights, not raw transcripts.
