Knows the catalog cold.
Your best salesperson is the one who has memorized every product, every application, and every compatibility gotcha. A Product Expert agent is that knowledge, available to every buyer and every rep at the same time, without the ramp-up.
What this agent actually does.
Deep catalogs fail customers in a specific way: the information exists, but only in a PDF, a spec sheet, or one person’s head. This role turns that into something anyone can ask a question of.
Explains applications, not just specs
Answers “will this work for my situation” by reasoning across attributes, use cases, industries, and constraints.
Compares options honestly
Puts two or three products side by side and explains the trade-off in the buyer’s terms rather than the datasheet’s.
Supports your sales channel
Distributor reps and partner teams get consistent product knowledge without waiting on training or a callback.
Surfaces catalog gaps
Reports which products get asked about most, which comparisons keep recurring, and where your product information is thin.
In the field
A North American safety equipment and cleanroom supply manufacturer with $50M+ in annual revenue deployed this role to support 200+ distributor salespeople across 20+ partners — replacing static PDFs and inconsistent product training with an always-on product expert. Read the full case study →
Questions it answers all day.
These come straight from live deployments. Your agent’s version is built from your own product data.
“Which glove do I need for a cleanroom rated ISO 5?”
“What is the difference between these two models?”
“Is this compatible with the system I already have?”
“What do you have for this application under this budget?”
“What are your best sellers in this category?”
“Who distributes this in my region?”
“What sizes and quantities does this come in?”
“What should I recommend to a customer in this industry?”
Same role, different catalog.
| Deployed for | What the Product Expert is working from |

| Distributors & suppliers | Multi-line catalogs, applications by industry, cross-references, and partner-specific assortments. |

| Multi-location retail | Assortment by store, category depth, and product discovery across locations. See it live |
How it is configured.
Agent type
Voice or avatar. Brand-facing deployments usually choose an avatar so the expert has a consistent face across web, booth, and partner channels.
Account scope
Runs on any CRSTA tier, but catalogs of real depth usually sit on Network or Enterprise, where kiosk and custom-app channels are available.
What you supply
Product lists, spec sheets, application notes, and existing sales collateral. Unstructured content is fine — organizing it is part of onboarding.
Structured onboarding for a first agent runs 4–8 weeks on Network and 8–12 weeks on Enterprise, reflecting catalog depth and integration scope. Each additional agent on the same knowledge foundation takes 1–2 weeks.
Give every buyer your best rep.
